I realize this will anger or confuse some of you, but I’m OK with that. I am fiscally, ideologically, politically, and theologically as conservative as you can get. I believe in rugged individualism and I don’t take kindly to slackers or those who take to victimhood status to game the systems of life. But I am LIBERAL in love. Gay/straight, conservative/liberal, atheist/religious, rich/poor, sober/addict – I don’t have to agree with you or live like you to love you. And I believe this is the example of Christ as well.
I may be straight but I don’t hate lgbt shirt
What happened in Orlando was a tragedy for ALL of humanity, not just one segment or community. It pains me to hear from friends in the LGBT community who now see Christians and Radical Islamists in the same category based on the hateful dealings they’ve had with the church world. This should not be so. This is not my Jesus.
So on Saturday, when Columbus hosts their Pride event, I plan to show up wearing this shirt. Maybe I will get to pray with someone, maybe share the Gospel, maybe just share a hug, a smile or even a tear with someone hurting. Maybe nothing productive will happen, but I feel like I can’t be who God wants me to be if I don’t do my part to tear down the banner of hate.
