I met some really cool kids last night at the Darius Rucker concert in Pensacola at the Naval Base. Gabriel is almost four years old and is the biggest flirt ever – even more so than Brody. He played hard to get at first but when he started laughing it’s over. He clung to me like a wet shirt. His big brother, Daemon, is more the serious type. I could tell he’s a lot like his daddy, Walter. He’s seven and pretty calm. When he saw Gabriel up on my shoulders he got a little jealous. Daemon waited patiently for me to put Gabriel down and then asked if he could do that. So, I said yes, of course, and we danced to Wagon Wheel. There were a few other great people there as well. I talked to this one guy in line for I put the Fun in Funnel cake shirt who has a daughter that’s four, I think. He said she didn’t want to go and he just told her to pack some ponies.

When they got settled and ready for the music, the little girl met a friend, so it worked out. Next, there was Sheila. She seemed so surprised that I spoke to her. I told her she had to scream and clap with me for no reason, and she did. As she was leaving, I got her name and she got mine and we have each other a farewell hug. On my way back to my seat, there were Matt and Jeff, the two, off-duty marines, and their naval friend with the cute hat. She had one of those boat looking hats on. I stood with them for a few minutes and then went back to my seat. Lastly, there was a younger, kinky haired mixed girl name Sierra. She was just standing beside us watching the musicians play. I made her dance with me. I put the Fun in Funnel cake shirt. I also met an old man who gave me the Uncle Sam hat right off his head!! The fireworks were icing on the cake. We all know how much I love fireworks. I can’t wait for next year. Maybe I’ll be able to go again.
